Thank you former Secretary/Treasurer Mike Worley
March 17, 2026
The Seis Lagos Utility District extends its sincere appreciation to former Secretary/Treasurer Mike Worley for his service, dedication, and many valuable contributions to the District.
Mike joined the Board during a challenging and uncertain time. Driven by a desire to understand the issues facing the District and help move long‑standing concerns toward resolution, he chose not to remain an outside observer. Instead, he embraced the Board’s spirit of progress, stepped forward, and immersed himself in learning the complexities of District operations. His direct and outspoken style—bold at times—reflected a genuine commitment to strengthening the District’s overall performance.
What many may not have seen is the extent of Mike’s behind‑the‑scenes work. He consistently took on some of the District’s most difficult and long‑neglected operational challenges—often volunteering for tasks that few others were prepared to handle. During a period when the District had only one administrative staff member, Mike’s willingness to help prevented disruptions to essential water and wastewater services.
Mike played a key role in improving security at the Ground Water Storage Tank where NTMWD water enters the system. He spent significant time in the field supporting operations, troubleshooting issues, and finding specialized vendors for unexpected problems—such as securing experts to remove aggressive wasps from the top of the water tower.
He regularly worked directly with suppliers to resolve critical equipment issues and maintain uninterrupted operations. He also pushed vendors to take the District seriously—an ongoing challenge for small districts that often struggle to obtain basic estimates. His persistence helped secure vendor engagement when it was most needed.
Through the combined efforts of Mike and others, the Barranca Trail Lift Station now has a new Generac generator and automatic transfer switch (ATS)—finally ending the District’s reliance on a rented Sunbelt generator that cost nearly $3,000 per month. This change brings significant operational and financial benefits to the community.
Mike also assisted with overdue fence repairs and helped identify vendors willing to take on smaller projects, such as the wrought‑iron fence installation in Brockdale—work that had stalled simply because contractors would not provide estimates or the estimates were over-inflated.
The Board recognizes that many residents may not have seen the hours Mike invested, the hands‑on involvement he provided, or the sustained effort required to resolve issues that had persisted for years. We hope this acknowledgment gives the community a clearer understanding of his commitment and highlights the importance of Directors who contribute not only during monthly public meetings, but also behind the scenes, day after day, to help ensure safe, reliable water and sewer services for all three neighborhoods.
Mike, we hope you now have time to enjoy your excellent golf game and take a well‑earned break from the stress, unrelenting scrutiny, and criticism that come with serving on the Board of Directors for the Seis Lagos Utility District. Your expertise, effort, and perseverance made a meaningful difference for our community.
Thank you, Mike, for your dedicated service and lasting contributions to the Seis Lagos Utility District. We wish you many great days on the golf course ahead.
